Surprise! I have an early video tutorial release for you guys today! I wanted to do this for a couple of reasons. One- I am super excited to get the Fallen Arrows Blanket CAL going! and Two- I want those of you who are unfamiliar with the C2C technique to have a chance to practice ahead of time if you want to.
Part One of the tutorial includes everything you will need to know to complete the first portion of the Fallen Arrows Blanket CAL. You will learn how to crochet the C2C stitch using HDC, how to crochet C2C increase rows, how to read and follow a pixel chart, and how to switch colors mid-row.
I hope you find this video helpful, and don't forget to join me on Wednesday when the first part of the pattern will be released :)
A side note-the yarn for this blanket is on sale at Michaels this week for $2/skein!!! You can make the Fallen Arrows Blanket for UNDER $40!
Happy Monday everyone! I've been using my #yarnitforward tags all winter-leaving scarves and hats around town for people to find and keep. And now I want to spread some yarn love to you guys. So it's time for a giveaway!
This year I have decided that, each month, I will give away the yarn and hook to make one of my most popular patterns to one lucky winner! This month, you can enter to win one skein of Lion Brand Scarfie yarn and a 5.5mm Clover Soft Touch crochet hook and use it to make the Puffs Mod Scarf. Now of course you don't HAVE to make the suggested pattern-you can use the yarn however you choose :) Use the form below and enter to win! AND remember to follow me or sign up for my mailing list so that you don't miss next months giveaway!
I TRULY appreciate all of my readers, but as I am personally funding these giveaways international shipping is unfortunately cost prohibitive at this time. I hope that, as my blog grows, I will be able to expand the scope of these giveaways in the future.
In case you missed it, I had another big blog announcement last week! I will be starting my first CAL, the Fallen Arrows Blanket, on February 1st. Get all the details here.
Hey guys! Last month I posted seven free patterns for "Seven Days of Scafie". The most popular pattern was the Celtic Winters Cowl which uses the Celtic weave stitch in the round, and I had a lot of video tutorial requests! And now I'm happy to say that it is here for your viewing pleasure ;)
Over the past month I have been working on fine-tuning my video filming. I know that video tutorials are helpful for many when learning new stitches or techniques, and it is something that I am going to try to do more of this year! The biggest trick is trying to find a time to film in daylight, while my 2 year old, 2 dogs and 2 cats won't disturb me (ha! That never actually happens). But thanks to my daughter's long nap and my husband's interference with the critters, I was able to get this video shot last weekend :) I hope that you find it helpful!
Ok Caron Cakes fans-one more post for you! Last night, the online inventory of the new Caron Cakes colors went live, and now I have three pieces of good news for you:
- All colors are (while I am writing this) in stock and available to ship!
- The yarn is on sale for $6 instead of $7.99
- Michaels is offering flat-rate shipping for $2.95 today (Friday) and tomorrow!
You do have to order the yarn in quantities of three, but this means that if you order 3 skeins, your will be paying $6.99 per skein which is still LESS than retail price even after you factor in shipping (taxes will depend on where you live).
The more you order, the less your "per skein" price will be since the $2.95 shipping rate will stay the same.
So if you are itching to get the new colors and don't want to wait for them to show up in the store-now would be a PERFECT time to order them. You can also stock up on a few of the discontinued colors as well. At the time of posting this - Lemon Lime and Lilac Frosting are still in stock!
Please note that inventory can change at any time! This post contains affiliate links. Thank you for supporting free patterns and yarn deals on Left in Knots!
