I have not been paid at all to promote this website-so this is definitely my honest and unbiased opinion :)
My first impression is that it's a website that is *kind of* like Pinterest. But instead of each link taking you to an external website-it takes you to a step-by-step photo tutorial for the project. These projects are published by anyone-I have done 3 so far! I don't plan on making all of my patterns into Instructables, but it is a nice way to share more detailed photos for a pattern for those that may like the extra information.
The fiber arts community does have a huge presence on Instructables yet. They actually reached out to me and asked me to sign up, so I am guessing they are trying to expand this area of their site! If you are interested-you can post your own instructables too!
You can sign up for a free Instructables account. This allows you to view and publish instructables, vote in contests, and keep a list of favorites.
If you decide to sign up for a Premium Membership you will get the following benefits:
The biggest benefit I see with a Premium Membership is the free and unlimited PDF downloads as well as the free access to online classes (knitting, embroidery, bread making, canning, and sewing to name a few!)
Interested in trying it out?! Two lucky winners are going to get to try out a FREE Premium Membership. I am giving away one 3-month membership ($14.85 value) and one 1-year membership ($35.40 value). Complete the Rafflecopter form below for your chance to enter!
This contest is open worldwide from 11/6/2016 12:00am EST to 11/13/16 12:00am EST.
What do you think of Instructables? Is this a useful format for step-by-step patterns? Let me know what you think! Good luck!
