Women's Basic Bulky Mittens Crochet Pattern

Wow, how is it the middle of January already?!  This is my first pattern of the New Year, but don't worry...I still have several more planned to come out this month!  If you were reading my blog last month, you may remember me mentioning that I will be releasing some mitten patterns this month to match some of my other popular free crochet patterns I have published in the past.  The Women's Basic Bulky Mittens are the first up!  Keep reading for the free crochet pattern.

This fast and modern crochet pattern will show you how to crochet Women's Basic Bulky Mittens.  This free crochet pattern is beginner friendly, and these mittens make a great project for yourself, gifts or as a charity donation.  All you need is some bulky acrylic yarn and a 6.0mm crochet hook!

These mittens are made with a bulky acrylic yarn and match my Basic Bulky Ear Warmer perfectly!  They are a nice, quick project and extra mittens are SO handy to have around.  Stash a few pairs in your purse or car and you will never be without that much needed extra warmth on the coldest and snowiest days.

This pattern would also make a great donation project or a fun #yarnitforward project (read all of the details about #yarnitforward here to spread some yarn love in your local community!)  Incidentally, my sister snatched these up about a week ago but I will definitely be making more to share (and to use up some of my Charisma stash).

These mittens are sized to fit an average adult woman.  If you need to increase the size, I have notes below on how to alter the length.  If they need to be wider, I would recommend just going up a hook size as I did use pretty tight tension on these.  I also have a pattern for Men's Basic Bulky Mittens if you want to make a his/hers set ;)  Keep an eye out for more mitten patterns coming to my blog!

Round 6: ch 1, HDC2Tog around (5)

Cut and tie yarn leaving a long tail.  Using a yarn needle, weave through every other stitch around the top.  Pull to cinch the thumb shut and tie off.  Weave in all ends.
